Ludza Society for the Disabled implements a project in the field of social entrepreneurship

“Ludza Society for the Disabled” has started implementation of the project “Work is live” (No. 2012.EEZ/PP/1/MEC/012), which is supported by the programme “NGO fund” of European Economic Area Financial Instrument 2009 – 2014, co-financed by Ludza Municipality. Implementation of the project takes place from 1 November 2013 until 30 April 2015. Ludza Society for the Disabled will implement this project in cooperation with the foreign partner – Örtækni workshop of the Organization of the Disabled in Iceland, with which a partnership agreement is signed.


The goal of the project “Work is live” is to facilitate development of social entrepreneurship in eastern Latgale region, stimulate social inclusion and growth of welfare among socially vulnerable inhabitants.


Within the framework of the project “Work is live”, several activities are envisaged. The central event is training, where 40 participants will acquire basic principles of social enterprise management. Information about possibilities to participate in the training will be disseminated on homepages of Ludza, Cibla, Karsava and Zilupe municipalities and in free of charge informative publications, as well as in the regional newspaper “Ludzas Zeme” and as a sliding advertisement on Latgale Regional Television. Moreover, Ludza Society for the Disabled has envisaged to create its homepage, gain experience from foreign partners, in cooperation with LRT create television reports, organize a regional discussion “Social entrepreneurship in Latgale region – to be or not to be?”.


The opening event of the project will take place on 6 December 2013 at 12:00 in the hotel “Ludza”.
